The ability to create my own art.

It was something I didn’t even know existed—until I realized I couldn’t do it.

Suddenly, my world collapsed. My anatomy was wrong. My colors were off. My scenes? Lifeless. No matter how many hours I practiced, it felt like nothing was changing. I was missing something deeper, something essential.

So, I did what most people do when they’re afraid.

I ignored it.

I told myself it didn’t matter. I convinced myself that hollow feeling in my chest would go away. But every time I scrolled through social media and saw other artists—friends, pros, legends—I felt worse.

"Why can’t I create like that?"

And in the quietest, darkest moments, an even scarier thought whispered:

"Will I ever be good enough?"

That doubt built up, stacking like bricks on my shoulders. Until one day, it all came crashing down.

Art block. Self-sabotage. Excuses. "I don’t feel like drawing."

And just like that, my dreams drifted further away.

But then, something changed.

I woke up one morning, exhausted. Not just physically—exhausted from the pain of feeling less than.

I was tired of believing I didn’t have the right background. Tired of thinking, If only my family could afford art classes... If only I had a teacher...

Tired of excuses.

I had two choices: Stay stuck or change everything.

So, I changed.

I stopped waiting for the “right” materials, the “perfect” circumstances. Instead, I picked the artists I admired most—the ones whose work made me feel something—and I studied them relentlessly.

I analyzed their videos, sent emails, dissected every brushstroke. But what transformed my art wasn’t just copying their techniques. It was understanding how they think.

Because that’s the key.

The secret to creating incredible art isn’t just in what you draw—it’s in how you think.

The moment I absorbed that, everything shifted.

After a year of following this process, my art exploded in quality. My posts started getting noticed. Comments poured in:

"This looks incredible!"

And the best of all comments: '' I want to be like you ''

The joy that I would get my reading that someone from I don't know where in the world wanting to draw exactly in my style was EVERYTHING I needed know.

And then, something happened that changed everything even more.

Someone messaged me:

"Can I order a commission from you?"

I’ll never forget it. It was a simple My Little Pony drawing. They paid me $80—an amount that felt insane to me at the time. Little did I know, one day, I’d be taking on commissions worth up to 40 times that amount.

The “monster” I feared the most—creating my own art—was never the enemy.

It was the answer.

Once I mastered full scenes, once I understood how to think like an artist, my skills skyrocketed. I went from hearing “You’ll never make money from this” to “We’re so proud of you, Gaby!”

Now, I’m a full-time artist. I draw what I love. I take commissions. I create fanart of my favorite games and series.

And I wake up every day doing what I was meant to do.
